Nizwa, the former capital city of Oman, is a fertile sea of green with an oasis of date plantations stretching 8kms from the town. Today, Nizwa is still the largest and most important town in this area of the interior and is noted for its 17th century fort and atmospheric souks full of silversmiths’ art, especially ornately engraved khanjars. Jabrin Castle with its wall and ceiling decorations and secret passageways which is build in the 17th century is the most beautiful historical palces in Oman. Bahla For is a UNISCO World Heritage which is constructed thousands of years back and a magnificent Fort.

  • Sun cream, sunglasses, hat, camera or case!
  • Clothes that are light and will protect you from the sun.(shoulders and knees should be covered)

Day 1 : Muscat – Nizwa – Jebrin Castle – Bahla – Muscat
After breakfast in hotel you will meet the Omani Guide at 8:00am . The drive take around 1.5 hours toward Nizwa, where  Nizwa city is famous for its history, culture and heritage. We spend spend some times exploring some of the many highlights of the surrounding area. We begin in Nizwa itself, visiting the traditional and modern souk. We continue onto the 17th century fort, built to guard the Sumail Gap during the struggle between the Sultan and the radical Imams. Nizwa was the center of Imam resistance right up until the 1950s.

After that we will move towards Jabreen Castle which is one of the mot beautiful castles in Oman which is constructed in the late 17th century. Then we move to see the UNISCO world heritage Bahla Fort which is constructed thousands of years back. Then if we have time we can visit the pottery factory and experience traditional Omani hand crafts. will have Picnic Lunch during the trip and back to Muscat around 5pm.
